Abstract

Philosophical hermeneutics works to "transcend the multiplicity of methods and techniques of interpretation towards an interpretive sense that finds in the linguistic structure of the world a guarantee of its effectiveness. The very nature of things makes the movement of understanding a comprehensive and total movement. Therefore, the entire ambition of hermeneutics tends towards understanding understanding. This task does not consist in laying out a procedure pertaining to understanding (...), but rather in highlighting the conditions of the possibility of hermeneutics, that is, the conditions that allow understanding to occur, as if to say: "What must we do in order to understand? How is understanding possible?"
