Zum neuen aktuellen Status der Germanistik und DaF an algerischen Universitäten On the Current Status of German Studies and German as a Foreign Language (DaF) at Algerian Universities

Abstract
ABSTRACT: This brief study aims to provide an overview of the status of German as a foreign language in Algeria, particularly in terms of opportunities for engaging with the German language in the academic field. With regard to foreign language learning, it will outline and describe the current situation of German studies and German as a foreign language in Algeria from a retrospective perspective. After French and English, German is considered the third foreign language in Algeria, taught in high schools two years before the baccalaureate and then studied for three to eight years, leading up to the doctoral level, in German studies at the university. It is important to emphasize the focus on the use of new concepts, the diversity of methods and course content, as well as regular evaluation of teaching to ensure the quality of instruction.
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Die vorliegende kurze Untersuchung soll einen Überblick über die Stellung des Deutschen als Fremdsprache in Algerien bieten, v.a. bezüglich der Möglichkeiten zur Beschäftigung mit der deutschen Sprache im akademischen Bereich. In Hinblick auf das Fremdsprachenlernen wird es an dieser Stelle aus einer Retroperspektive heraus die aktuelle Situation der Germanistik und des Deutschen als Fremdsprache in Algerien skizzieren und beschreiben. Nach dem Französischen und dem Englischen gilt die deutsche Sprache als dritte Fremdsprache in Algerien , die im Gymnasium zwei (2) Jahre vor dem Abitur gelernt dann von drei (3) bis acht (8) Jahre bis zum Doktorgrad im Germanistikstudium an der Universität studiert wird. Es wichtig, dass der Schwerpunkt im Deutschstudium auf die Verwendung von neuen Konzepten, die Vielfalt der Methoden und Kursinhalte sowie regelmäßige Unterrichtsevaluierungen gelegt wird, um die Qualität der Lehre zu gewährleisten.
