Corrigenda and Retractions Policies
1- Corrigenda:
In compliance with the policies outlined by ALTRALANG Journal regarding corrigenda, the following procedures are followed:
- Occurrence of Errors: A corrigendum may be deemed necessary due to errors encountered during the article's production process or to rectify mistakes made by the authors.
- Criteria for Publication: Correction notes are published if (1) the integrity of the scientific record is substantially compromised, or (2) in situations where a minor portion of an otherwise reliable publication is found to be wrong or misleading, particularly if due to inadvertent errors.
- Publication Format:
- A correction note is appended to the issue with the article type specified as "corrigendum," and the title clearly labeled as "corrigendum."
- It is freely accessible to all readers.
- The correction note provides a clear description of the error and transparently details the changes made.
- The online version of the article is corrected, with the PDF version featuring a link to the correction note.
- The correction note and the corrected paper are interlinked to ensure easy reference.
It is important to note that correction notes are typically reserved for alterations that significantly impact the integrity of the scientific record, while minor changes may be indicated with a footnote in the online version.
2 - Retractions:
In adherence to ALTRALANG Journal's policies on retractions, the following guidelines are adhered to:
- Evaluation Process: Retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern are evaluated in accordance with COPE’s Retraction Guidelines.
- Retraction Procedure:
- If an investigation necessitates a retraction, a retraction note is published in the respective issue, titled "Retraction Note: (Article Title)."
- The retraction note is freely accessible to all readers and clearly states the party retracting the paper, along with objective and factual reasons for the retraction.
- The original article PDF and any accompanying supporting information PDFs are retained, each marked with a "Retracted Article" watermark.
- The metadata online is updated to include "Retracted Article:" in front of the full title, with a link to the retraction note.
- The retraction note and the retracted article are mutually linked for reference purposes.
Furthermore, in exceptional cases where the content of an article must be removed from online publication to comply with legal obligations (e.g., defamation, violation of personal privacy or laws), the metadata remains online, accompanied by a note explaining the content's removal.
