Abstract
ABSTRACT: This research work identifies the difficulties that prevent the teaching of auto stress suffixes and proposes some teaching strategies and practical exercise in order to this pronunciation item be taught and tested as other language items at secondary school. In fact, this study demonstrates that the teaching of auto-stress has never been taught and tested in the class of Second at high secondary school. Also, the thesis shows that it is due to INRAP lack of expertise to set a methodological guide for the teaching of pronunciation at secondary school. Before 2012, the course of phonetics and phonology did not provide students with teaching strategies to help prospective teachers face this English pronunciation item in classes. Consequently, no teacher can undertake this teaching item and no leaner is able to deal with that in speaking and writing activities. Finally, this research work suggests a pedagogical guide to make possible the teaching of auto-stress suffixes at secondary school thanks a given sample of teaching strategies and applied exercises in a teaching card.
