Abstract
ABSTRACT: In order to preserve the Algerian cultural heritage, the popular stories told are transcribed in the mother tongue and sometimes in another language. This complex operation, which requires the transition from oral to written, has given rise to several versions. The transcriber-translator is faced with cultural, linguistic and stylistic challenges. It is interesting to note to what extent this has been respected in the different versions? Because, in the specific case of the conservation of this popular culture, it is imperative to keep the cultural soul expressed through this collective imagination. This article examines this particular treatment suffered by the oral corpus by taking concrete examples from the Algerian oral tradition, in Arabic or Amazigh, and preserved in writing in the French language. We will try to examine and determine the basic requirements of this fixation in writing in a comparative approach of oral and written versions.
