Abstract
ABSTRACT:” "Des rêves et des assassins (Dreams and Assassins) " (1995) is a work situated at the intersection of various literary trends, encompassing literature of disillusionment, testimonial novel, and postcolonial narrative. Nevertheless, the dominant theme undeniably revolves around the question of identity embedded in the protagonist's journey, both in the space of origin and that of exile. We have examined the text concerning form and discourse on the individual process of (de)construction and (re)construction of identity, inscribing the narrative trajectory of the heroine within different social spaces. Even though the heroine opts for cultural hybridity as a means of identification, she remains in search of a neutral and phantasmagoric No Man’s Land.
