Abstract
ABSTRACT: When textual art meets visual art, the boundaries between these two forms seem difficult to draw. This article is interested in this capacity of the literary text to speak about art, to represent it, to even recreate it. Through the analysis of the novel by Gaëlle Josse which has Georges de La Tour's painting in the center, and which oscillates between a love story and a war story. We will try to highlight the way in which painting and literature intertwine to produce, in the end, a magma of fiction and reality. Starting from a retrospective of the Lorraine painter and his canvas, and examining the comings and goings between love and war, we will try to apprehend this process of fictionalization which allowed to revive the canvas of a painter who was forgotten for more than two centuries.
