Abstract

Orientalism is an intellectual movement led by the West to discover the East, and it is a soft means to conquer it after the military invasion, it considered the first references on which Arab-Islamic modernist projects were affected. The Orientalists interested in oriental societies, and their work served only their ideologies. We seek from this research to explain the critical aspects assumed by the orientalists about exegesis’s books, and how youssef seddik based on their criticism to establish his Quran’s interpretation. This research came out with a number of results which are: firstly the Orientalist proposition represented the first thresholds of Arab modernist thought, Secondly :Youssef Seddik like other modernist thinker adopting the orientalist views and he weaves on their footsteps to provides a new interpretation of the Quran
