Abstract
This research paper deals with the description and analysis of the topic of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), which is a therapeutic approach that belongs to the third wave of cognitive-behavioral therapy, which depends on the functional context derived from the theory of relational frameworks, and this treatment has attracted the attention of many researchers and specialists in psychology. In this article, we will explain what it is, relying on the descriptive approach and identifying its most important terms, and knowing the links between its concepts and basic behavioral processes, with a brief description of its path of origin ،development and the theoretical foundations that were behind its appearance.
