SOCIOLOGY OF MARRIAGE AND GENDER: FROM PARTNER CHOICE TO DAILY LIFE

Abstract
This research deals with an important sociological topic in family sociology. It is about two sides of the marriage process, starting with the choice of a life partner and their perceptions of the body, moving to the study of the couples’ daily lives as the yare lived. This research reveals the extent to which gender -as a social construct of the concepts of masculinity, femininity, and social relations between both sexes- affects the institution of marriage and its interaction with the social change that has affected the roles of women and men. This has made the relationship of gender with the social change among dichotomies of tradition and modernity, disunity and continuity, , stability and change of couples and their daily lives.
