Abstract
This study aims to identify the philosophical foundations of the science of history, as well as the most important trends
and doctrines controlling the methods of historical research, it also attempts to answer a major problem which is determined by the subject of historical knowledge whether it is science or philosophy, as well as to highlight the importance of the historical aspect in scientific research in the field of humanities and social sciences.
