The Adolescent's Social Adaptation Journey A Socio-Educational Vision on School Transition and Its Impact on Social Relations

Abstract

Social adaptation is one of the most important psychological and educational processes that develop the individual’s experiences and improve his internal and external relationships in general,This study aimed to identify the social adaptation of adolescents during the school transition as an educational stage that they must pass through from a social and psychological perspective, in addition to identifying the most important challenges and effects that hinder the adaptation of this group. Therefore, the descriptive approach was relied upon as it is most appropriate for the topic. In addition to adopting the questionnaire as a tool for the study, which was applied to a purposive sample of 30 students studying in the secondary stage (first year of secondary school), it was found that this group faces a set of psychological challenges that affect them during the school transition and make them vulnerable to feelings of fear and anxiety, which affects their adaptation. social smoothly, In addition, the adolescent student's adaptation journey is culminated in a set of social and psychological challenges, and finally the weakness of educational guidance by the teacher and social worker and the lack of organized activities aimed at building a supportive social environment.
