Abstract
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this article is to analyze the discourse of official town planning documents and those held by the urban actors to reveal the diversity and complexity of representations of the centrality of Greater Tunis. Divergent and converging representations which do not seem to be evoked in the discourses analyzed to be expressed only in the places of centrality perceived, conceived and lived in the city of Tunis; but also, to use their complex contents in order to convince the logics of oriented urban action and the ideologies of their producers as to their visions of the city in general. It is then that one might think that it is probably not the meaning of the representation of urban centrality in its producer that is the most instructive, but rather the way in which this representation is instrumentalized in the various discourses.
