The Poetic Image and the Poetics of Image in Contemporary Algerian HaikuPoem. A Semiotic Approach to Selected Examples

Abstract

Haiku poetry of Japanese origin was able to transfer its artistic contagion to the Arabic literary scene, which was forced by the conditions of language and culture to change its designed structure while maintaining its symbolic specificity despite its exaggeration of the inspiration of life events in a stereotypical language. This research shows that the Algerian experience did not escape the tendency to modify the poem in accordance with the purposes of enjoyment and persuasion, so that it can possess a special haiku character that is nourished by the abundance of the phrase with good reference, and embellished by the rich poetic images with their linguistic deviations that provoke interpretation.
