The Value System of Primary School Teachers A Study on a Sample of Teachers in El Tarf Province

Abstract
This study aims to explore the prevailing value system among primary school teachers and to determine the hierarchical ranking (value scale) of its dimensions. The research's originality lies in providing a clear picture of the value map that guides the behavior of primary school teachers, which is vital for understanding their motivations and enhancing organizational effectiveness. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the study was conducted on a sample of 106 primary teachers in El Tarf province, using a questionnaire developed according to Spranger's classification of values. The results revealed the dominance of religious (M=4.72) and theoretical (M=4.44) values at the top of the value hierarchy, reflecting the missional and cognitive aspects of the teaching profession. Conversely, economic (M=3.47) and political (M=3.46) values ranked lowest, supporting the notion that the sample's motivation is geared more towards self-actualization than material gain or influence.
