Our choice focused on two newspapers: El Moudjahid and Al-Quds al-Arabi.

El Moudjahid has historical roots in the national liberation war and its editorial line reflects the unwavering position of the Algerian state on the rights of peoples to self-determination and independence.

Al-Quds al-Arabi is a Palestinian newspaper, "one of the most followed in the Arab world, Europe, and North America."

We will also make a brief foray into the Western "media complex" to examine how the same event is approached. Our choices here include the French newspaper Le Monde, which ranks first among French general news media with an international audience; Der Spiegel, Germany's leading weekly by readership and influence; and the French television channel France 24, which, according to its charter, "promotes French values around the world."
