The causes leading to substance abuse as perceived by students of the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah

Abstract
The study aimed at investigating the reasons leading to Narcotic substances use in society as Perceived by University of Science and Technology of Fujairah students. For this purpose, a questionnaire was designed consisted of two parts: The first part included the personal variables. The Second part included the scale of the study consisted of (34) items. A simple random sample of 255 university students was selected. The results revealed that there are multiple factors leading to narcotic substances abuse, the personal causes, social factors, and cultural factors. The study suggested some recommendations to curb the spread of this phenomenon.
