The Algerian City between Historical Evolution and Civilizational Change

Abstract
This research paper aims to identify the problem of the first urban fabric nuclei in Algeria, which dates back to the pre-Christmas period (BC) represented in urban settlements whose characteristics varied from one another according to different races that built it. Algeria witnessed a diversity in urban life during which cities were emerging, some of which evolved and adapted over time, while others has been died out and only ruins remained as a result of a history full of wars, disturbances, as well as stability and prosperity at other times. These formations, cultures and civilizations contributed to the building of the urban heritage and the formation of the urban network in Algeria, during which it witnessed the rapid urban growth of cities that influenced the change in the urban field of the Algerian city.
