Concepts of healthy behavior in the curriculum of science and technology Education Analytical study of science and technology education books for the primary stage

Abstract

The current study aimed to understand the concepts of healthy behavior contained in the science and technology education textbooks in the primary bhase. The study sample was the Science and Technology Education Books for this phase. The study also relied on a method of content analysis, using the Health Behavior Conceptual list as a data collection tool. Study results showed: There is variation in the eanking of health behavior areas in each science and technology education textbooks from the first year to the fifth year of primary education. The field of public health care was first in the science and technology education textbooks for the primary stage in general, followed by the environmental field, while field of preventive action come in last place.
