Fictional language and the influences of philosophy The novel "Ouled Haretna" by Najib Mahfoud as a model

Abstract

The study of the effects of philosophy on the fictional language requires, a deep knowledge of the relationship between philosophy and literature through the model of the novel, then analyzing the fictional language used across its multiple levels, with a focus on the philosophical presence at the level of form and content, also the relationship between word and meaning. For this purpose, we have selected the philosophical novel "Children of the Alley" written by the Egyptian novelist Naguib Mahfouz (1911-2006), in order to talking about the philosophical conception of the narrative language, through a philosophical and semantic approach which revolves in the specificity of the novel, also the relation between the word and its meaning. Trying to answer the following problematic: How did the philosophical tendency of the writer and the novel affect the fictional language of the “children of the Alley”?
