Driver's Representation of the Direct Causes of Traffic Accidents .A field study on a Sample of Drivers in Skikda State

Abstract
This study aims to identify drivers ’ representation of the direct causes of traffic accident, to answer the study’s questions and achieve its objectives, we relied on the descriptive approach , and the free associotion technique ( serial recall tool) to collect field data on a sample of 50 drivers.
The study found that the direct causes of traffic accidents are the drivers’ perception : excessive speed, failure to respect, medication effects, using the phone, dangerous overtaking, and side conversation, The study members focused on behavioral and health reasons related to the direct causes of traffic accidents, the results also showed the absence of cultural reasons.
