Impact of Globalization on Interpreting Remote Interpreting

Abstract
The main purpose of the present study is to explore the latest developments in interpreting in the era of Globalization, which consisted in the emergence of new types such as Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI), and how it was necessary to be used during the crisis of “Coronavirus” pandemic. In fact, the latter turned the world upside down, and imposed sanitary measures, including lockdown and physical distancing. Consequently, such measures changed the concepts and techniques of work, and Interpreters found themselves forced to adapt to the crucial situation, and adopt new alternatives by using the available communication means via the virtual space in order to keep on bridging the gap with the other, despite the various difficulties and obstacles, and the new challenges that had to be faced.
