Quality of School Guidance and Counseling Services in Secondary Education Stage -A Qualitative Study - Reality of Practices and Prospects for Development

Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of school guidance and counseling services provided to secondary school students and reveal the prospects for their future development, the study adopted the qualitative approach using case study method and personal interviews as a tool to collect data, which was conducted with 10 school guidance counselors working at some secondary schools in Souk Ahras-Algeria selected intentionally, The study used the Thematic Analysis method to analyze the data using Atlas program. The method adopted in this study allowed to reveal rich data, where several results have been achieved. The most important of these: quality is an essential input in the context of continuous improvement of the competencies of school counselors, which requires the development of their theoretical knowledge as well as practical practices, especially school counseling services and psychological support by intensifying their training processes and providing them with all necessary work tools including modern digital technologies and employing them in their activities provided to students.
