In the Critique of Orientalism From Representation to Counter-Representation

Abstract
There is no disagreement that the subjugation of the East is among the foundations of Orientalism, to reveal the hegemonic concept that has long existed in the womb of the East, as Orientalist critics, especially Third World critics, understood the mechanisms of this hegemony, which depends on the principle of representation, and this is based on several basic axes, led by the idea of (making the East), and all of the above had to be met with a reaction from the opposing party, as the other has its mechanisms for representing this East, it has become necessary to form a resistance act through the creation of a counter-representation that opens up spaces that allow the voice of the marginalized to be heard and present the true image of this East, from which this paper attempts to reveal the mechanisms of Orientalism, which are mainly represented by the idea of the counter and based on the principle of resistance, and this is through three critical models: Edward Said, Gayatri Spivak, Hamid Dabashi.
