Levels of critical acculturation between civilizational communication and cultural appropriation

Abstract

Acculturation has always been linked to human intellectual activity, when it comes to exchanges between societies. This applied to literature and criticism especially. Acculturation was adopted by Arab critics who were at first influenced by Aristolt’s works on logic, poetry and rhetoric.

Thanks to translation, the influence of acculturation emerged in a number of methods. This is how the Arab criticism movement became dependant on different levels (references, concepts, methods).

On the other hand, acculturation permitted a great openness to literary work. Nevertheless, it left criticism a prisoner of western ways of thinking and ignited and endless strife between what is genuinely of Arab origins and what id generated with western inspiration.
