Smart security as a mechanism for managing new security challenges in the Mediterranean

Abstract
In the framework of our research paper, we will attempt to illuminate a new concept of security known as "smart security" as an effective mechanism for achieving maritime security in the Mediterranean region, as the sea is the artery of economic and trade exchanges in the Mediterranean region and one of its most important means of transporting oil production and importing essential needs. And with the emergence of new challenges and threats especially after the events of the Arab movement 2011 which led Mediterranean Countries to think about how to achieve maritime security, which is directly linked with national security and the sustainability and development in the region as a whole.
