ORCID account
Importance of ORCID for Authors
At the Journal of Law, Society, and Authority (JLSA), we strongly recommend that all authors register for an Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier (ORCID) account. ORCID provides a unique and persistent digital identifier for researchers, ensuring accurate attribution and enhancing the discoverability of published work.
Why Register for an ORCID iD?
- Accurate Attribution: An ORCID iD ensures that you receive proper credit for your work, regardless of changes in your name, affiliation, or research area.
- Improved Discoverability: Your work remains easily searchable and accessible, thanks to the unique and persistent nature of the ORCID iD.
- Enhanced Collaboration: ORCID facilitates smooth correspondence with colleagues and contributes to a more streamlined research process.
Requirements for Submission
We encourage all authors, especially corresponding authors, to include their ORCID iD when submitting their manuscripts. Co-authors are also recommended to register and provide their ORCID iDs. ORCID identifiers should be included in the author data upon submission and will be published alongside the paper if accepted.
How to Obtain an ORCID iD
Getting an ORCID iD is quick and free:
- Visit the ORCID Registration Page: Go to orcid.org/register.
- Register Your Details: Follow the simple steps to create your ORCID iD. The registration process takes less than a minute.
- Use Your ORCID iD Permanently: Once registered, your ORCID iD remains with you throughout your career, making it a permanent identifier for your research.
By registering for an ORCID iD, you contribute to a more efficient and reliable research ecosystem, and help ensure that your work is accurately attributed and easily discoverable.
