Peer Review Process

The Journal of Law, Society, and Authority is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic quality, integrity, and scholarly rigor. All submissions undergo a structured and transparent peer review process designed to ensure originality, relevance, methodological soundness, and academic contribution in the fields of law and political science.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript is subjected to an initial screening by the editorial team. This stage assesses the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope, compliance with submission guidelines, and adherence to basic academic and ethical standards. Manuscripts that fall outside the journal’s thematic focus or fail to meet minimum quality requirements may be desk-rejected at this stage.
2. Assignment to Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief, who assigns them to an Associate Editor. The Associate Editor selects two independent experts in the relevant field to conduct a scholarly evaluation of the manuscript.
3. Peer Review Criteria
Scope: Relevance to the journal’s thematic areas.
Quality: Academic rigor, clarity of argumentation, and quality of writing.
Originality: Novelty and scholarly contribution of the research.
Accuracy: Reliability of data, sources, and results.
Methodological validity: Appropriateness and robustness of the research methodology.
Scholarly interest: Potential significance for the academic community.
4. Reviewer Reports and Feedback
Reviewers submit detailed and constructive reports, including recommendations for acceptance, revision, or rejection. These reports are communicated to the authors by the Editor-in-Chief. The feedback aims to support authors in strengthening the academic quality and clarity of their work.
5. Revision Stage
In cases of minor or major revisions, authors are invited to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers’ comments. Revised submissions must be accompanied by a point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed.
6. Final Evaluation
Revised manuscripts are reassessed, when necessary, by the original reviewers or by the Associate Editor to ensure that the requested revisions have been satisfactorily implemented. Based on these evaluations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision in consultation with the editorial team.
7. Final Decision and Publication
Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes final editorial checks and is prepared for publication. The Editor-in-Chief grants final approval before the article is published online.
The Journal of Law, Society, and Authority is dedicated to providing timely, fair, and constructive feedback throughout the review process, in line with international standards of scholarly publishing.
