Archiving Policy
I. Policy on Preservation
Passerelle is committed to the permanent preservation of the scholarly record and the long-term accessibility of all published content. This policy defines both the journal's official digital preservation strategy and the repository rights granted to authors.
II. Journal Digital Preservation
To ensure the perpetual availability of its content, Passerelle employs a robust, multi-faceted preservation strategy.
First, all published content is permanently archived and made accessible via the Algerian Scientific Journal Platform (ASJP), which serves as a primary digital host and archive.
Second, in full compliance with Ordinance No. 96-16 of July 2, 1996, relative to Legal Deposit (Ordonnance n° 96-16 du 2 juillet 1996 relative au dépôt légal), Passerelle formally deposits all published works with the National Library of Algeria (Bibliothèque Nationale d'Algérie). The National Library serves as the permanent, official repository for the nation's scholarly and cultural heritage.
Finally, all content is maintained on the journal's own website, providing an additional layer of access and redundancy. This triple-layer strategy ensures that Passerelle content will remain accessible and discoverable for future generations.
III. Author Self-Archiving (Repository Policy)
In accordance with the rights granted in our Copyright Policy, Passerelle defines the following specific rules for author self-archiving. Authors must adhere to these conditions.
A. Submitted Version (Preprint)
Passerelle permits authors to deposit their original submitted manuscript (preprint), but only under the following strict conditions to protect the integrity of the scholarly record and the journal's brand.
- Eligible Repositories: The preprint may only be deposited in recognized, non-commercial, and public repositories. This includes official institutional repositories (such as a university's) or established public preprint servers (e.g., HAL, SSRN, arXiv, or similar).
- Mandatory Cover Page: The author must add a dedicated cover page to the preprint file. This page must be the first page of the document and must clearly and conspicuously state the following information:
- Status: "PREPRINT (SUBMITTED VERSION)"
- Disclaimer: "This is a preprint of a manuscript submitted to Passerelle. This version has not been peer-reviewed and should not be cited as the definitive Version of Record."
- Submission Date: The date the manuscript was submitted.
- Journal: "Submitted for consideration to Passerelle (E-ISSN: 2716-8328 / URL: https://asjp.cerist.dz/en/PresentationRevue/531)"
- No Journal Branding: The preprint file must not include any Passerelle logos, branding, or formatting. It must be the author's original file.
Failure to add this cover page or depositing in a non-permitted repository will be considered a violation of our ethical policies.
B. Author's Accepted Manuscript (AAM)
The "AAM" is the final, peer-reviewed, and accepted version of the manuscript before the journal's copyediting and formatting.
- Authors may deposit the AAM in any institutional or non-commercial repository immediately upon acceptance, with no embargo.
- The deposited AAM must be accompanied by a full citation to the forthcoming Passerelle article and a direct link to the article's DOI as soon as it is available.
C. Final Published Version (Version of Record)
The "Version of Record" (VoR) is the final, copyedited, and formatted PDF as it appears on the Passerelle website.
- Authors are permitted to deposit the VoR in institutional repositories or on personal/departmental websites.
- The deposited VoR must be accompanied by the full, formal citation and a direct link (using the DOI) to the definitive version on the Passerelle website.
Authors are required to update all existing preprint records with a link to the final published Version of Record and its DOI.
