Duties of Editors
- Publication Decisions: Final decisions guided by editorial policy, legal requirements, and blind peer review.
- Fair Peer Review: Manuscripts evaluated solely on intellectual merit; anonymity maintained.
- Confidentiality: No disclosure of manuscripts beyond appropriate parties.
- Identifying & Preventing Misconduct: Vigilance for misconduct; follow COPE guidelines for investigation and corrective action.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors with conflicts must recuse themselves; responsibility reassigned to independent editors.
Editors play a central role in upholding transparency, objectivity, and integrity in the publication process.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers must follow ethical principles and support the editorial process:
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Feedback supports editorial decisions and improves manuscript quality.
- Promptness: Notify editor if unqualified or unavailable.
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts strictly confidential.
- Objectivity: Professional, evidence-based evaluation; personal criticism prohibited.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Alert editor of uncited relevant work or overlap with existing literature.
- Conflict of Interest: Recuse when conflicts exist.
Guidelines for Errata, Corrections, Retractions, and Removal
Actions are guided by COPE principles to maintain accuracy and transparency in published records.
Errata & Corrections
Article corrected; erratum/correction notice published separately and linked to the original article.
Retractions & Removal
For misconduct or major errors, retracted articles are watermarked. Removal is limited to legal court orders.
Transparency is maintained even when articles are removed for legal reasons.
Complaints
IJMLSP addresses complaints promptly, guided by COPE principles. Complaints must be specific, concise, and supported with evidence. Responses issued within 30 working days.
Complaints outside the journal’s remit or submitted offensively will receive a formal response explaining the limits of journal responsibility.
