Public Generative AI (GenAI) Policy

Transparency • Ethics • Responsible Innovation

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the use of Generative AI (GenAI) technologies (ChatGPT, OpenAI) is transparent, ethical, and responsible in the creation, review, and publication of research at TRANSLANG Journal. We aim to foster advancement in academic research while preserving the integrity and credibility of the scholarly publishing process.

01. Manuscript Preparation

Authors may use GenAI for identifying relevant resources, language enhancement (grammar/sentence structure), or idea generation. However, authors must disclose any AI-generated content—text, data, or visuals—under TRANSLANG Journal disclosure guidelines.

02. Peer-Review Process

Traduction et Langues Journal may integrate GenAI tools to assist with certain aspects of the Peer-Review process, such as plagiarism detection. Peer reviewers are asked to consider AI-generated content in line with ethical standards.

03. Ethical Considerations & Responsible Use

Transparency: Authors must explicitly disclose the use of any AI tools or models in the creation of their manuscript. This includes text, figures, or analysis generated by AI systems.

Data privacy: Any data processed by AI tools must comply with ethical standards, including data protection laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Originality: AI-generated content should not replace original thought; tools must enhance, not replace, academic rigor and intellectual contributions.

04. Prohibited Uses of GenAI

  • Fabricating data, results, or citations.
  • Producing false or misleading research conclusions.
  • Generating content that violates copyright, intellectual property, or ethical research standards.

Violations will lead to investigation, potential retraction, or sanctions.

05. Disclaimer: AI-generated content is reviewed for accuracy, but Traduction et Langues Journal cannot guarantee absolute correctness due to rapid tech development. Authors remain responsible for the integrity of their work.

Disclosure Statement on the Use of Generative AI

Traduction et Langues upholds the principle of transparency. Authors are requested to disclose AI-generated text, figures, data analysis, or assisted idea generation. This ensures that tools enhance research without compromising integrity.
Standard Disclosure Template:

"The author(s) declare that GenAI was used exclusively to assist with language editing and stylistic refinement. No generative AI was employed for data analysis, interpretation, or the elaboration of substantive arguments, which remain entirely the responsibility of the author(s)."

Failure to disclose may result in revision requests or retraction of the publication.
