Public Generative AI Policy
Public Generative AI (GenAI) Policy for Traduction et Langues (TRANSLANG Journal)
Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the use of Generative AI (GenAI) technologies (ChatGPT, OpenAI) is transparent, ethical, and responsible in the creation, review, and publication of research at TRANSLANG Journal. We aim to foster advancement in academic research while preserving the integrity and credibility of the scholarly publishing process.
- Use of GenAI in Manuscript Preparation
Authors may choose to use Generative AI tools to assist with various stages of manuscript preparation, such as:
- Relevant Resources: Generative AI can help identify key themes or suggest relevant sources (to be adapted in submitted articles).
- Language enhancement: AI-powered tools may assist with grammar correction, sentence structure improvement, or style consistency.
- Idea generation: Authors may use AI for brainstorming and exploring different research models and approaches or hypotheses.
However, authors must disclose any AI-generated content in their manuscripts, including but not limited to text, data analysis, or visual content, under TRANSLANG Journal disclosure guidelines.
- Use of GenAI in the Peer-Review Process
IJMLSP Journal may integrate GenAI tools to assist with certain aspects of the Peer-Review process, such as:
- Plagiarism detection: AI tools may be used to identify potential instances of plagiarism or improper citation.
- Peer reviewers are asked to consider AI-generated content in line with their usual ethical guidelines and standards. Reviewers are encouraged to be transparent in acknowledging any AI assistance used in the review process.
- Ethical Considerations and Responsible Use
- Transparency: Authors must explicitly disclose the use of any AI tools or models in the creation of their manuscript. This includes text, figures, or analysis generated by AI systems.
- Data privacy: Any data processed by AI tools must comply with ethical standards, including data protection laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Originality: AI-generated content should not replace original thought, and authors must ensure that AI tools are used to enhance, not replace, academic rigor and intellectual contributions.
- Prohibited Uses of GenAI
Generative AI tools must not be used for:
- Fabricating data, results, or citations.
- Producing false or misleading research conclusions.
- Generating content that violates copyright, intellectual property, or ethical research standards.
Any violations of these prohibitions will be subject to investigation, and authors may face retraction of their publication or other sanctions.
- Disclaimer Regarding AI-Generated Content
AI-generated content is reviewed for accuracy and alignment with scholarly standards. However, due to the rapid development of AI technology, TRANSLANG Journal cannot guarantee the absolute correctness or ethical alignment of AI-generated material. Authors remain responsible for the integrity and originality of their work.
Disclosure Statement on the Use of Generative AI
Traduction et Langues upholds the principle of transparency in research practices. As part of our commitment to responsible scholarship, we request that authors disclose any use of Generative AI (GenAI) tools in the preparation of their manuscript. This includes:
- AI-generated text, figures, or data analysis
- AI-assisted idea generation or content refinement
We are aware of the valuable contribution of AI tools in enhancing research productivity and language quality, but they should never compromise academic integrity. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the use of GenAI adheres to ethical guidelines and does not replace their original intellectual contributions.
Disclosures should include:
- The specific AI tools used.
- The role AI played in the research or manuscript preparation.
- Any AI-generated content in the manuscript.
Failure to disclose AI use may result in the manuscript being returned for revision or, in extreme cases, retraction of the publication.
GenAI Disclosure Statement
The author(s) declare that GenAI was used exclusively to assist with language editing and stylistic refinement. No generative AI was employed for data analysis, interpretation, or the elaboration of substantive arguments, which remain entirely the responsibility of the author(s).
