Instructions for Authors
Traduction et Langues TRANSLANG Journal welcomes submissions of high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of research and practice in multilingualism, language policy, and languages for specific purposes. This guide provides authors with the necessary information regarding manuscript preparation, submission procedures, ethical standards, and publication policies.
Authors should carefully review these guidelines before submitting their work to ensure compliance with the journal’s editorial requirements and to facilitate an efficient peer-review and publication process.
Manuscript Preparation
- Manuscript Layout
1.1 General Formatting
- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or compatible.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12-point, single-spaced.
- Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
- Headings: Use a clear and consistent hierarchy (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.).
- Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English. Both American English and British English are accepted, provided consistency is maintained throughout the text.
1.2 Title Page
The title page should contain the following information:
- Title of the manuscript (concise, informative, and specific).
- Full name(s) of the author(s).
- Institutional affiliation(s) and country.
- ORCID ID (mandatory).
- Email address of the corresponding author.
1.3 Abstract and Keywords
- Abstract: 250–300 words, summarizing the objectives, methods, findings, and significance.
- Keywords: 5-7 keywords (separated by semicolons), accurately reflecting the content of the paper.
1.4 Main Text Structure (for research articles)
- Introduction: Background, objectives, and significance.
- Literature Review (if applicable): Theoretical and empirical foundations.
- Methodology: Detailed description of methods, materials, and/or data sources.
- Findings/Results: Clear presentation of outcomes.
- Discussion: Interpretation, theoretical contribution, and practical implications.
- Conclusion: Main insights and possible directions for further research.
1.5 References
- References must follow APA 7th edition style.
- Ensure consistency between in-text citations and the reference list.
- Examples can be found in the journal’s template.
1.6 Tables and Figures
- Insert tables and figures in the manuscript close to their first mention.
- Number consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and provide descriptive captions.
- Ensure clarity, high quality, and editability.
- Additional Declarations
Authors are required to include the following statements, where applicable, after the references or appendices:
- Acknowledgements: Recognition of individuals, institutions, or funding bodies that supported the work.
- Authors’ Biodata: A short note (100–150 words) for each author, including affiliation and research interests.
- Authors’ Contribution: A statement detailing the role of each author (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, writing, editing).
- Declaration of Conflicting Interests: Disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise. If none, state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”
- Disclosure on the Use of Generative AI: If AI tools (ChatGPT) were used, indicate how. If not, state: “No generative AI tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.”
- Ethical Approval: Required for studies involving human participants. If not applicable, state: “This study did not require ethical approval.”
- Informed Consent: For research involving participants, confirm that informed consent was obtained. If not applicable, state: “This study did not involve human participants requiring informed consent.”
- Ethical Considerations
- Submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere.
- Authors must acknowledge all sources and avoid plagiarism.
- For research involving human subjects, appropriate ethical approval and informed consent must be documented.
- Peer Review Policy
- All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts.
- Authors must anonymize manuscripts prior to submission.
- Reviewers evaluate originality, methodological rigor, contribution, and relevance.
- Open Access Policy
TRANSLANG Journal publishes under a Gold Open Access model.
- All published content is freely available immediately upon release.
- No submission fees, article processing charges (APCs), or publication fees apply.
- Copyright and Licensing
- Authors retain copyright.
- Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which permits sharing and adaptation with proper attribution, for non-commercial purposes.
- After Acceptance
- Accepted manuscripts are copyedited and typeset.
- Authors will receive proofs for approval before publication.
- Final articles are published online in the current issue and archived for permanent access.
