Traduction et Langues TRANSLANG Journal is an international double-blind, peer-reviewed, semiannual, free-of-charge, and open-access journal edited by the University of Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed. TRANSLANG publishes original scholarly research at the intersection of Translation Studies and the Sciences of Language, with particular attention to Interpreting Studies, Applied Linguistics, Discourse Studies, Sociolinguistics, Multilingualism, Terminology, Language Pedagogy, and Language and Translation Technologies.
The journal provides a forum for theoretically grounded, empirically informed, and methodologically rigorous research addressing translation, interpreting, language, discourse, multilingual communication, language education, and technology-mediated language practices.
TRANSLANG welcomes qualitative, quantitative, corpus-based, experimental, computational, comparative, and mixed-methods research. Interdisciplinary contributions are particularly encouraged when they clearly establish the relationship among their research questions, theoretical framework, methodology, and contribution to scholarship.
The journal has developed from its original orientation toward German and translation into an international multidisciplinary publication with contributions addressing diverse languages, linguistic contexts, and research traditions. Since 2022, the journal has placed particular emphasis on Translation Studies while maintaining its engagement with related areas of language research.
The quality of the manuscripts is not the only criterion for acceptance; the criterion of novelty/originality is also necessary for publication. TRANSLANG favors various methodologies, including argumentative, empirical, scientometric, etc. The journal aims to offer visibility to researchers in Translation and Language Studies from the Maghreb, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the West. The journal is published in both print and online versions; the online version is free access and downloadable.
