As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Guides for Authors

Traduction et Langues TRANSLANG Journal welcomes high-quality manuscripts that contribute to research and practice in multilingualism, language policy, and languages for specific purposes. This guide provides authors with information on manuscript preparation, submission procedures, ethical standards, and publication policies.

Authors should review these guidelines carefully to comply with editorial requirements and facilitate an efficient peer-review and publication process.

1. Manuscript Preparation

1.1 General Formatting

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or compatible
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, single-spaced
  • Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) all sides
  • Headings: Clear hierarchy (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.)
    • Language: Clear, concise English; American or British English is acceptable if consistent

1.2 Title Page

  • Manuscript title (concise, informative, specific)
  • Full names of all authors
  • Institutional affiliations and country
  • ORCID ID (mandatory)
  • Email of corresponding author

1.3 Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: 250–300 words summarizing objectives, methods, findings, and significance
  • Keywords: 5–7 keywords separated by semicolons, reflecting the paper content

1.4 Main Text Structure (Research Articles)

  • Introduction: Background, objectives, significance
  • Literature Review (if applicable): Theoretical and empirical foundations
  • Methodology: Description of methods, materials, data sources
  • Findings/Results: Clear presentation of outcomes
  • Discussion: Interpretation, theoretical contribution, practical implications
  • Conclusion: Main insights and directions for further research

1.5 References

  • Follow APA 7th edition style
  • Ensure consistency between in-text citations and reference list
  • Refer to the journal template for examples

1.6 Tables and Figures

  • Place tables and figures close to first mention in text
  • Number consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1) with descriptive captions
  • Ensure clarity, high quality, and editability

2. Additional Declarations

  • Acknowledgements: Recognize contributors, institutions, funding
  • Authors’ Biodata: 100–150 words including affiliation and research interests
  • Authors’ Contribution: Specify each author’s role (conceptualization, methodology, writing, editing)
  • Declaration of Conflicts of Interest: If none, state: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest."
  • Use of Generative AI: If none, state: "No generative AI tools were used in this manuscript."
  • Ethical Approval: Required for studies involving human participants; otherwise: "This study did not require ethical approval."
  • Informed Consent: Required for human participants; otherwise: "This study did not involve human participants requiring consent."

3. Ethical Considerations

  • Submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere
  • Acknowledge all sources and avoid plagiarism
  • Document ethical approval and informed consent for human research

4. Peer Review Policy

  • Double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts
  • Manuscripts must be anonymized before submission
  • Reviewers evaluate originality, methodology, contribution, and relevance

7. After Acceptance

  • Manuscripts are copyedited and typeset
  • Authors receive proofs before publication
  • Final articles are published online and permanently archived
