Synchronie et Diachronie en Dialectologie

Abstract

In my paper entitled Synchrony and diachrony in dialectology I will try to give a small overview of the different linguistic varieties before discussing the concepts of diachrony and synchrony which are both very closely related to the problems of dialectology. It will also be a question of the relationship between norm and linguistic variation, before concluding our reflection with a didactic point of view. I consider that the dialect can no longer be considered as a handicap to learning a foreign language or a second language. This involves research in sociolinguistics and which also concerns language acquisition to have ample information on the knowledge possessed by the pupils in relation to the different varieties and the way in which they will react to linguistic demands.
