Abstract
Semiotics is broad in space and horizons, because it includes the epistemological or epistemological approach. It is a science that derives its origins and principles from a wide range of fields of knowledge, such as linguistics, philosophy, logic, psychoanalysis and anthropology. One of the functions of semiotics is that it helps to assimilate various scientific issues, thus transforming the scientific discourse into a discourse based on language and the network of signs founding it. What is striking - at this stage - is that semiotics began to impose itself, thus displacing the position of some traditional approaches, such as the social (Marxist, psychological, historical) method. Interest appeared in the semiotic literary curriculum, and most critical studies - theoretical and applied - focused on the principles of this school, sometimes with translation and other times with critical activation. What we also notice at the beginning is the inaccuracy of the terms translated from foreign languages (French and English), so we find “semiology, sociology, semantics, symbology and etymology to refer to the science itself, and this idiomatic multiplicity creates a state of fluctuation in the reader. Semiotics as a method is far from being a ready-made template, applied automatically and awaiting its success. Rather, it is an analysis that adheres from the beginning to the end of the text with the general logic. Semiotics are multi-directional practices, as there are the semiotics of theater, the semiotics of the photographic image, the semiotics of political discourse, and the semiotics of prose and poetic narration. What is important is that all aspects of human daily activity are a subject of semiotics, and in origin and occupation, signs that reveal this culture and its identity.
